What's New?

New for 2023

For 2023 the Solaris goes back to its roots, reducing weight and fork travel, whilst building on the heritage and character that made the SolarisMAX such a hit. The Solaris replaces the SolarisMAX, with a slightly more XC sensibility, but still crazy capable on rowdier terrain. We've been doing Downcountry for decades.

The advent of amazing 120mm forks such as the latest Rockshox SID and Fox 34 allowed us to reassess the Solaris. By focussing the fork travel range to 100-120mm, we have been able to refine and revise the Reynolds 853 tubeset to reduce the weight of the frame.

The brilliant SolarisMAX geometry is mostly carried over, but with a lower BB for ripping through those singletrack corners. Adding our 5 step C-sizing reduces steps between sizes and seat tube lengths, giving more precise rider fit and comfort.

As our customers evolve their uses of the bike, we recognised that the Solaris has a big following in the bikepacking community. So, new for the 2023 Solaris we have added triple/anything cage bosses under the down tube. These go with flexible fitting options from the multiple bosses on top of the down tube that carry over from the current SolarisMAX. Lots more luggage options now.

Are you looking for more fork travel and a burlier bike? Check out the BFeMAX.

Geometry and Sizing Chart
The chart is a guide to frame size. Longshot Geometry means that the frames are low and long, with plenty of standover room. We recommend going for the size suggested for your height on the chart, and getting all the benefits of running a super short and responsive 35-45mm stem. It's a game changer.

Our new Cotic "C" Sizing tightens the gaps between sizing, and give you more options to size up or down as you wish.

Make sure you consider your leg length as well. If you upsize you might not be able to fit a longer dropper post due to the collar hitting the seat tube top. Maximum seatpost insertion for calculating dropper post options is on the chart.

We don't develop our bikes around a specific fork offset, we find that it's simply a preference down to the individual rider. If you'd like to learn more about this, Click Here

If you are unsure about that or anything else, drop us a line at size@cotic.co.uk and we'll be happy to discuss set up based on what you're riding at the moment and what seatpost you are planning to use.
