This is Cotic's hardcore hardtail, built for longer travel forks, bigger terrain, and riders who want to point at something steep and commit. But here's the thing; despite the tough-sounding name and the aggressive intentions, the BFe has a beautiful ride feel. It is still a Cotic, after all. Forgiving, supple, springy – the signature steel character that defines every bike we build is fully present here, even in our most capable trail machine.

That makes it something rare. A hardtail that descends with complete confidence, climbs with ease, and pedals comfortably for hours. One bike that handles a smash-and-grab session on local trails just as naturally as a long day in the backcountry with a frame bag stuffed full of gear.

One Bike, Two Characters

The BFe features our Double Decker Dropout, a unique system that lets you run a full 29er setup or switch to a mullet 27.5 rear wheel. The frame angles and bottom bracket height stay identical either way. What changes is the character.

Run it as a full 29er and the BFe becomes a steamroller. Big wheels, long wheelbase, big mountains, serious chunk, it's the setup for riders who want to cover ground fast and make their full-suspension mates question their choices.

Switch to mullet and the attitude shifts. The 27.5 rear wheel position shortens the chainstay by 10mm, which doesn't sound like much until you're in a steep corner or flicking the bike off a kicker. Easier to manual. More agile in tight, committed terrain.

Same frame. Same angles. Two genuinely different bikes. You choose on the day.
