You'd have to be living under a pretty big rock to be unaware of the current difficulties in sourcing bike parts at the moment, drivetrains in particular.

This is why we grabbed the opportunity to stock Microshift Avent X 1x10 drivetrains. We didn't just get them because they exist though; while they might not boast 12 gears, these groupsets are solid and reliable bits of kit which mean you could be riding a new Cotic sooner than you think.

With a cassette ratio of 11-48, paired with a 30T chainring this is definitely low enough to get you and your 29" wheels to the top of pretty much anything.

"I’ve been running Microshift for a few weeks now on my dream-build BFeMAX. I spent all my cash on Rev Grips and eewings so a budget groupset is ideal for me. It’s the component you’re most likely to twang off a rock round here so I’ve always gone for a cheaper but reliable mech option.

The 10 speed cassette is spaced perfectly with no huge jumps between gears and shifting is quick & smooth. My favourite aspect is that the chain is a bit thicker and will wear out a little bit slower than 12 speed. With all the gritty, muddy conditions I find myself in this time of year, that’s a big bonus. All in all I’m stoked with it."
